New post in Northamptonshire Libraries to support Creative Industries

Creative industries are a valuable part of the economy of Northamptonshire. In recognition of this a new appointment has been made to co-ordinate the delivery of a programme within libraries to support this sector.

Malcolm Robinson has taken up this new position as the Programme Coordinator Librarian for Creative Industries.

He explains; "
One part of this support is to make people aware of the resources within the library network, introduce new services and work in partnership with colleagues and organisations within creative industries. Libraries are the place to go for information and access to some great resources. These resources include both print and online, our information and signposting role, staff expertise and using the community space in libraries to both promote, showcase and support this sector."

The creative industries cover a wide spectrum for the county and the resources will be focusing on film, music, the performing and visual arts, crafts, broadcasting, advertising, industrial and other kinds of design, architecture, publishing, computer games, computer services, the art and antiques market and fashion.
To find out more about the new resources open to creative industries in Northamptonshire please contact Malcolm on 01604 462040 or email marobinson@northamptonshire.gov.uk
