Kevin McCully B.A. (Hons)

After taking A-Level photography at Northampton College, I gained a Degree in Photomedia and Design Communications at Plymouth College of Art and Design in 2007.
Looking is a human experience. Looking can be random and vague or a deliberate, selective and discriminating act. We seek, we observe, we absorb information through our looking. When we photograph, we crystalise our looking experience. Presenting our looking to others can be a personal experience; we say 'This is what I saw'.
As an artist, I aim to intensify my looking, to transcend the 'pretty picture' and to express a personal vision through my photography. Photographing mainly, but not exclusively, in the landscape and still-life genres, I use both monochrome and colour capture on medium-format film. I am currently working on a project called 'Forest Floor', which I am photographing in Northampton's Delapre Woods.

Thanks for looking.
