The organisation is now in the position to deliver its key objectives through the development of the Fishmarket's Art program. Our objectives at the outset were:

to create a focus for the arts community

match niche arts with niche audiences

help improve the cultural profile of the town making it a better place to live, work and visit

work with local agencies to develop an inspired vision for the arts in Northampton and County

We remain committed to these objectives but believe a concentrated focus will best serve the continued development of Northampton's cultural offer.

Our new focus is to re-invest our resources into the development of www.fishmarketgallery.co.uk website and designate this website as the online home of the new Access Arts project run by our Volunteering Network. We have already prepared a new unit in the gallery to host the project, which aims to encourage involvement in the arts in Northampton.

The benefits will include: an arts information centre offering information on events, arts venues, courses, workshops, shows and exhibitions; a one-stop shop for anyone wanting to find out more about what’s happening in the arts locally; a support network providing links to local businesses, community projects, arts organisations, monthly networking events; monthly exhibitions in the shop’s gallery space (during one month’s ‘learning curve’); CV and Portfolio clinics; volunteering opportunities to build and direct the project with opportunities to train, gain nationally recognised awards, attend regular networking events and individual ‘skills-matching’ to make sure volunteers get the most out of the opportunities we offer.

If you require more information, have an idea for collaboration or want to get involved with volunteering for the project please contact Sarah Quinn, Volunteer Co-ordinator on sarah@northamptonarts.org

If you want to contact us about the decision to re-launch this site as ‘Access Arts’ online home, please E-mail Sally Blaise on sally@northamptonarts.org.

Also, if you would like to be involved in the administration of Northampton Arts Collective Limited, please contact our Chairman Mark Walman on sanctmark@hotmail.com

Our season of major exhibitions is launched in the Fishmarket gallery in March and is fully funded by the Arts Council. Artists, performers, writers, and musicians are enthusiastically preparing to present their work in the dramatic space and hope it will provide you with the chance to see and participate in an exciting Arts program of international importance.

We thank you for your continued support and patience during this transitional period.
